When I first started working on Engines Under Ursus I had a manuscript I'd finished. I'd shown it to family and friend and they liked it. Of course, that's the problem, you send it to the professionals and they want something that's going to sell immediately. The nice thing about the current state of the Internet is that it's a low risk way to publish content. If people like what they hear, you'll get an audience and if not, well then you'll know it's time to change something. So far I've learned that Audio Books can evolve from the written word on the Internet. There are lots of great bands out there looking for a bit of exposure and they don't mind you placing their stuff with your work so long as you let the listener know who they are. Starting on Episode 8 of Engines Under Ursus, I began my first episode with music. Now I know, not everyone likes the music but what the heck, you can skip over it. Then I realized, it's not chapters I'm releasing but Episodes like a TV Show. So thank you music for showing me the way. It's become one of the fun parts of each episode to pick the music.
